|This bike has a double set of ghost
flames, using "rainbow chameleon"
paint. As the angle of light changes
on the paint it changes colors. The
top three photos of the tank are just
different angles on the same side of
the tank. You can see three different
colors visible just by walking past
the bike. This paint works best when
it's over a dark base paint, in this
case the base is black.
|Sometimes being subtle with the use of colors works better than using
multiple colors on a single bike. In this case using three shades of green &
the "KISS"(Keep It Simple, Stupid!) method, this bike has a paint theme that
flows from front to back & looks clean & classy.
|This Harley Davidson bike has a classic, clean design that is striking but
doesn't scream "Look at me!!!!". This bike is owned by a lady who
wanted a custom paint scheme that would connect her bike to her
husband's. She chose the Candy Tangerine over black metallic so that
her bike would still have a black base, which she liked, yet the Tangerine
would be in the same color family as her husband's bike.
|Ghost flames always look better in bright sunlight, however a good paint
job should be shiny & "deep". The reflections around this Scion make it
difficult to see the double set of ghost flames in "rainbow chameleon" paint
over the black base. The flames are over the bumper, hood, fenders & into
the doors. Because of the multi color flames, this car appears to have teal,
purple, blue or almost red flames, but they change color as you walk
around the car depending on the angle of the sunlight.
|THIS SET OF TANKS WAS PAINTED ELSEWHERE, I REPAIRED THIS PAINT.
The lady who owned this bike bought it used, and it developed bubbles
under the paint around the gas fills, which began to break off. In the far left
photo you can see this tank had more peeling than the other tank. In the
photo third from left, there are at least two bubbles in the white area around
the fill. To the right of each of these photos is the tank after the repair. The
trickiest part of this kind of repair is that the graphics have multiple colors
that have to be matched & if the colors can't be matched the new paint work
needs to blend & flow or the repair will be obvious.
